My parents are cool.

We came home from the cruise to find Amanda happily seating in Grandma's lap and not missing us one bit. Grandma and Grandpa were not ready for us to come back yet. We should have turned around and walked out the door for an extended vacation...Oh well.
I did, however, miss this face.
And this face. And I was happy too see them.
Our welcome home dinner was homemade mac and cheese and BBQ chicken. Delish! Brie ate all of her mac and cheese and wanted more but I told her she needed to eat the chicken and vegi's before she got more. She decided she wanted out. She promptly went to the picnic table where Grandpa Mike was eating and started in on Grandpa's mac and cheese. Grandpa Mike didn't seem to sad about it. Turns out, he really doesn't even like mac and cheese. He was only too happy to share and Brie was only too happy to eat. They make a great pair. And before you think I am a bad daughter and stuck my dad at the kid table, he volunteered to sit there. The kids were supposed to sit there and really didn't want to, so instead of fighting my dad sat there.
The next day we went outside to play. The girls got new Razor scooters from my parents and wanted to test them out. While there were zipping up and down the street, I got out my unicycle for my dad to see. He's the one who taught me how to ride in the first place. I let him have a go at it. Apparently he's not as young as he used to be.
He got a couple pedels in but decided to quit before he broke something, like my unicycle :) Oh and by the way I really like that my children have the word unicycle in their vocabulary.
These are the girls on their brand spankin' new Razor scooters. I love those things!!
As a matter of fact I ride this one all the time when Ava is gone at preschool.
I would give my right foot for my parents to move out here. You have no idea. It's so nice to have someone else loving on my kids. My kids love them too. I love them too. They are awesome, even if they did recommend the movie Zombieland.

I question their taste at times...
