For Christmas, the girls got a membership to Marbles Kids Museum here in Raleigh from my parents. We went for the first time on New Years Eve and the kids LOVED it!
The first section of the museum is called "Around Town". There were cars to drive.

Brie loved driving the cars. Amanda did not love Brie driving the cars, however.

Ava's is writing a letter at the post office.

Brie is driving the mail truck (at least I think this was the mail truck...)

The had a half a buss for the kids to play in. I am pretty sure it was a real bus. There is a slide out the back of the bus to get into the Around Town area.

There were boats to drive. Ava and Amanda opted to fish.

Ava caught a big one!

We next stop was the huge connect four game. The girls liked to fill the slots up and let them drop down. They probably would have spent a half hour doing this.

We then moved on to the water section. I skipped the getting wet part. I didn't want to deal with wet children for the rest of the day. Ava is driving a submarine here.

Amanda is conducting science experiments. They have a black light box and tubes with stuff that will light up under the black lights. Amanda spent a long time here.

Brie is figuring out the engines. Those buttons make noise when you push them.

Ava was tired of the submarine so she climbed the pirate ship. It was one sweet pirate ship!

Ava is pretty buff! Check her out weighing anchor all by herself!

Amanda is pretty buff too. I think I may have super children.

Brie couldn't get enough of the climbing on the ship. I had to keep a close eye on here because those steps are a bit precarious on the way down.

Amanda on the look out.

We then headed upstairs where we found these cars. you make cars out of these block things and race them down this ramp.

We quickly found the painting station. All of the girls were into that. Brie was really excited about it. So was I actually because I didn't have to clean any of it up :)

A young Picasso?

Maybe Monet?

Or Just a fashion designer. Here there were sheets of paper with people on them and lots of fabric. You can cut out the fabric to make clothes for the people or do whatever you want really.

Brie wasn't into the clothing design. She was back to painting. She will probably be the future Jackson Pollock.

Behind the fashion design area was the workbench. Actually there were about 7 workbenches. Brie is trying to figure out the clamp.

Amanda trying to figure out the saw. She didn't do too bad actually. They were real saws too!!

Ava trying her hand at drilling a hole.

After you saw, drill, screw or whatever you can make a creation. The girls made their own creations. They were...uh....

creative. Amanda's is on the left, she likes tape.

Not sure what Brie is doing here but she was doing it while the girls were building.

Next came the blocks. I have never seen so many blocks before, ever. Justin would have a field day in this area.

I was getting tired of Brie so I locked her in a cage. No, not really. this was just a wire place to stand over everything. Cool view though.

Digging through rocks.

Flying a spaceship.

Captain Amanda at your service.

Riding a fish, backward.

Checking out the view underwater.

Looks like a slippery view :)

The girls have been begging to go again. I think we are going to make GREAT use of this membership.

What an awesome gift! I wish we had a kid's museum here. Oh, and love the sundress on Ava. Is she aware that it's winter?!
Boy - next time I come out your direction I will have to plan to stay for a week so I can go to all your fun museums with the kids!!
