Me and my unicycle

My friend Austin came over again today and this time he brought his dad so we could meet him. Austin also rides a unicycle so he was riding and juggling. I was inspired to try so I did and here it is...
video

My neighbors across the street were getting a kick out of the circus acts transpiring on the street. I think I need a tip cup/hat. I think I did OK for my first try. It could have been alot worse. Either way I am a huge fan of my new unicycle.

I did pretty good passing again this time as well. I think we counted 9 passes total before I dropped the ball. Justin and I also learned how to do a flourish with a club. It looks cool in the middle of actually juggling the clubs. If only I could actually juggle the dumb things.

My new project right now is to learn the "Mills Mess". It looks amazing. I thought I was doing it when I was doing the underhanded juggle stuff but apparently not. You should google it. It's nuts. Actually I'll save you the time. Here's a link to it. Unbelievable.

Airplanes!

My good friend, Mike, works for a company that flies people around on private jets. Today he had a short little sit in Raleigh so we went to visit. I haven't seen Mike in about 8 years!

Mike took us out to see his airplane. It's a Cessna Citation Sovereign. Pretty sweet airplane. It was my first time on a private jet.
Here's Mike in his "office".
This is the rest of the plane. It's pretty cushy! I sat in the seats and it was like sitting on a cloud. No wonder people like flying on these things. And everything was so shiny.
Brie liked the seats.
Amanda was thrilled to be on the airplane.
Brie is checking out the seat belt while Mike, in the back, is showing us where all the food is.
This is one of the coolest parts of this airplane. The seats will adjust to pretty much any position you want. If you take two seats that are across from each other and lay them back you can make a little bed! Here's Mike demonstrating.
Each seat has it's own DVD screen. You can watch a movie or watch the flight tracker. This screen tells you how high you are, the temperature and airspeed (I think).
I even got to walk away with a present. Apparently the people on the previous flight did not use this wine and it's not a standard thing they keep on the plane so they were going to get rid of it. Mike asked if I wanted it. I said yes. I will be having a glass of wine tonight! I wonder if it's good stuff since rich people probably bought it? (oh and I am not sure why I couldn't rotate this picture. I just kept trying and it would not work so sorry about that)
It was an awesome visit. I enjoyed every minute! It is always nice to catch up with old friends. And what a treat to get to see the airplane. And Mike if you're reading this, Thanks. You made my day.

A good Monday

Ava was practically begging to vacuum today. I told her if she cleaned up she could. She did and she even made ALL the beds in the house. I love these kinds of moods she gets in.
After naps it was snack time. Amanda decided to cuddle up with Gina and eat. I couldn't resist this picture.
This was the exciting part of the day for me. I picked up my new unicycle!! Steve built it for me this morning and I picked it up this afternoon. The one I have now was too small and this is just the right size. I hopped on and started riding. I even remembered how to get up without holding on to anything. It's pretty fun I must say :)
Ok and now for the worst part of the day. This is probably the grossest thing I have ever experienced...

I was inside with Justin and the kids were all outside. I noticed Brie had gotten something in her mouth. So of course I walk out there to get it out. Well, I came close and she spit some of it out. Upon closer examination it was one of those big hairy disgusting bees!!!! BARF! Here's the kicker...the bees head was still in Bries mouth! I am squealing like an 8 year old girl with my finger in Bries mouth trying to get the stupid head out. She finally spit it out and I couldn't bear to touch it so I left it where it dropped. then I noticed the giant bees leg on Brie's pants. I quickly brushed that off and ran inside. I gave her a cup of water to drink. UGH..I feel like I am going to lose my dinner and it was really good too.

Sorry to gross you out. I think I am going to bathe in some Purell now.

I think she wants to go outside.

Brie found the bell the dogs ring when they want to go outside. She has been DESPERATE to get it all day.
Two hands now. She wants it bad!
I eventually picked her up and let her play with the bell. She thought it was the coolest thing.

The things my kids say

There are a few things my kids say that amuse me SO much, I almost don't want to correct them. Here are a few gems.

"I'm getting busy" - busy = dizzy

Sleeping Doodie

"I don't have any pee in my butt" - They say this when they don't have to go to the bathroom

When they learn how to say the "L" sound the words just won't be as much fun. Both girls call our dog Lola, Woda.

I can't think of anymore off the top of my head. I am sure there are tons but these are the ones I am thinking about right now.

Mac House

We are now a fully functional Mac home. It was only a matter of time before Justin got his own Mac! Look how pretty our Macs are together. I heart them.
Here are the fronts of the Macs. You'll notice mine, the more expensive one, is on Facebook and Justin's is actually doing something important and business related. Facebook is important right?
Have I mentioned how much I love my Mac?

Rolling Over Boot Camp

Brie has, once again, forgotten how to roll over. We have, once again, started rolling over boot camp. I have been putting her on her back when I out her down rather than just sitting her down. She is getting it..sort of. I am sure a couple days of this and she'll be rolling like a champ again.

Here she is happy, I just put her on the floor and she finds it mildly amusing.
Ok, she is maybe getting tired of this game.
Maybe if I do a BIG cute smile my mom will roll me over.
Um..Mom, I am really done with this.
Ok I'll put in a half hearted try.
I eventually helped her out and as soon as she got over she crawled off to somewhere far away from me, the torturer. It's for your own good Brie. You'll thank me later.

Waving, breathing and gagging

Brie has become quite the little waver this last week. It's really cute because she gets this adorable look on her face and scrunches her nose. I LOVE it!

She also likes to play copycat. Justin started this game by blowing in her face. She would then blow back but through her nose. Now she thinks it's funny when you copy her.

And yeah, at the end of this video she gags. Sorry about that....

Tea Party

The girls have been really good today playing with each other. As a matter of fact they played tea party for at least an hour together before and after lunch. I was wondering how long it would take for them to discover they can actually put water in their tea set and drink. I am really going to have to make sure they use the potty before nap time!

Sleepy Amanda

I am pretty sure Amanda didn't get enough sleep Saturday night...

This is on the way home from church. This was right after she woke up from her nap.

Photo Shoot?

I love finding pictures Justin took when I go to upload photos onto my computer. He took these while I was out helping a friend. I don't think he bribed them with anything to make them smile. How do you think I get them all to smile at once...

My new juggling friend!

I met this guy at church named Austin. It turns out he is a master juggler. For real. So immediately I told him we have to hang out because I could juggle too and I wanted to learn how to pass juggle. He seemed pretty excited to meet someone who actually knew how to juggle as well. Little did he know that I am no where near the caliber he is. I can hold my own though.

Austin is really good...like really, he juggles torches. You would not believe the things he can do with juggle balls. And he makes it look SO easy!!!! Oh and I am pretty sure he is my long lost brother. He would fit in SO perfectly with my family.

Anyway, tonight he joined us for dinner and some fun jugging lessons. In about a half hour I was pass juggling like a semi pro. I learned a couple other new tricks as well but this was by far the coolest thing.

Things that go bump update

Last week if you all remember I got bumped in the parking lot of Ava's Preschool. The next time I brought Ava to preschool I told the people at the front office what happened. They said they knew who I was talking about and they would find out what was going on.

Today, my friend whose son goes to preschool with Ava called me. She saw the old man and this time he was in the passenger seat of the car. Hopefully this is how it will be from now on.

Justice has been served.

Pushing the walker

Look at her go!!

I'm in trouble now!

I just witnessed Brie stand up, open the Tupperware cabinet and pull everything out. The girl can open cabinets! Holy Crap!

Sunday Fun

This actually took place yesterday but most of this stuff happened today :)

Brie's first time riding on Justin's shoulders. Justin was tearing through the house at a pretty quick clip. Notice the dog behind Justin who is about ready to bite Justin in the leg. That's Lola. She loves playing chase.
I am pretty sure Brie LOVED it!
It was raining today and the girls wanted to go play out in the rain with their umbrellas. I figured this would be great because they would go outside and play and stay relatively dry. Yeah right. The girls walked in looking like this, soaked.
This folks is why I don't do laundry while Brie is awake. She is very determined in her task though. Oh and I know the little transition in the middle of this video is overkill but I have been dying to try it out on something.

p.s. That spot on her face is jelly.

The hostile takeover has begun.

You may have noticed this this says this post was posted by Justin. Well this isn't Justin, it's Christine. And why, you ask, am I posting under Justin's name? Well I am on his computer because he has mine...at work.

I saw the signs of a takeover early on when I first got my Mac. Justin couldn't keep his hands off it. When he would come home from work he would surf the internet on my computer and pretty much only use his computer to check e-mail. Then he started researching stuff with my computer. He kept asking me how things worked.

At this point I told him he should just get his own Mac. He said no, not yet. But then he had this idea to stream video while he is doing his radio show. Guess who's computer he needed for that. You guessed it mine. Code red imminent hostile takeover!

So here we are today with me on Justin's laptop and my beloved Mac far far away from me.

Who did he really get the Mac for I wonder :)

p.s. I think we'll be an all Mac house VERY soon.

Brie's 9 months old

And she is a little bitty thing! She weighs 15lbs 14oz and is 27 inches long. That puts her in the 5th percentile for weight and 25 percentile for height.

She is also VERY mischievous. A couple weeks ago I noticed a big pile of toilet paper on the girls bathroom floor. I got really annoyed because I figured it was either Ava or Amanda up to no good. Then I looked behind me and saw Brie. Hmmmm....

A couple days later I actually caught her doing it. And today as I was getting ready to go on a date with Justin, look who joined me in the bathroom and what she found to play with. Does she look proud of herself or what?!?

Things that go bump...

...in the parking lot. As I was loading up the kids, after dropping Ava off at preschool, I felt a bump and a slight shake in my car. I looked up and I was pretty sure the car backing out next to me just bumped into me. I am pretty sure the driver of that car knew he bumped into me because he looked up at my car. It looked like he could have been looking straight at me, but my windows in the back are tinted so I am not sure he saw me. Then I noticed he just kept backing out and then left. Maybe he didn't hit me afterall? As soon as he was gone I went and checked out the other side of my car.

Yeah, he hit me, he knew it and he just drove off.
I am pretty sure he also knew there were people being loaded in my car. It's kind of hard not to notice something like that going on in the car parked right next to you. Now if it were me I would have stopped and apologized at least since they person I just hit probably SAW me do it. How embarrassing to just drive off.

But here's the kicker. Maybe he really is just an oblivious old man. A friend of mine was parked next to me and loading her kids in the car. I told her what just happened and she said her husband saw him do the same thing to a different car before. And she also said he really has no regard for those in line in front of him as we all wait to drop our kids off.

I think his license might need to be revoked...

Is there a doctor in the house?

Amanda brought out the doctor kit today and started checking me out. Then I checked her out with my assistant, nurse Ava. Then Ava decided it was high time for a promotion.

Dr. Ava is checking Amanda's heart beat.
That seemed OK so she moved onto the thermometer.
Next the ears. Maybe there would be something wrong there.
I don't think she actually found anything but she gave Amanda a shot just in case...in her knee.
On a totally unrelated note. Check out Lola...
Justin found her this way as we were headed to bed. No, she isn't dead. Not even close. In fact she was probably snoring.

Arts and Crafts, and the outdoors

We had a fun, busy weekend. Friday we got a package in the mail from Aunt Rachel. Inside was this really fun sticker/window decal maker box. The girls could not WAIT to make stickers to stick on the window.

Ava tried first. The stuff is a lot like Elmers glue and it came out like it too. Ava wanted to make a birthday cake because we were headed to a birthday party on Saturday for her friend Lex.

Speaking of the Birthday party...our friends/old neighbors Mara and Cory showed up!! They moved a while back and we haven't seen them in forever. That was a really nice surprise. Oh and a little boy Ava goes to preschool with was there too, apparently in the car on the way to Lex's birthday he found out Ava was going to be there and said, "Ava is so pretty." Sigh...

Ok back to the topic at hand...
Amanda had a turn next. She meant to make a star but it turned out to be more of a glop that I sorta shaped into a star. She loved it though.
The stickers the girls made had to dry over night. While those were drying I crocheted a pair of slippers! I taught myself how to do it. These were originally supposed to be for Amanda but yarn stretches and they go too big for Amanda's little feet. These are her feet modeling them. We ended up giving them to Ava and they fit her fairly well. I think they turned out pretty well especially considering it was my first pair. Aren't they SO cute?!?
Here are the sticker creations. First up, the birthday cake...
Second, the star....umm....blob thing... (it had a rough time coming off the plastic thing it dried on). We are going to make more tomorrow.
Today was a beautiful day outside so naturally we spent the majority of the day outside. Ava wanted to pick flowers (which were really weeds but don't tell her that).
Here is the gorgeous bouquet.
She picked out this vase and is filling it with water, filtered water. Nothing but the best for the weeds...uh...in mean flowers.
Ava using her flower aranging skills.
And Voila!!
After the flower arranging came the sticks. Amanda has these sticks, which used to be flowers, so she calls them her flowers. Whatever.
Justin cut down the dead hibiscus branches and Ava wanted to help relocate them. She's pretty buff!!
Here's Justins stick. HA! It's the old Japanese Snowbell that didn't survive. Yeah, my husband can carry a tree all by himself. I bet you wish your husband could do that.
Amanda wanted to try and mow the lawn. I think we need to work on her technique a little bit.
