We had a fun, busy weekend. Friday we got a package in the mail from Aunt Rachel. Inside was this really fun sticker/window decal maker box. The girls could not WAIT to make stickers to stick on the window.
Ava tried first. The stuff is a lot like Elmers glue and it came out like it too. Ava wanted to make a birthday cake because we were headed to a birthday party on Saturday for her friend Lex.
Speaking of the Birthday party...our friends/old neighbors Mara and Cory showed up!! They moved a while back and we haven't seen them in forever. That was a really nice surprise. Oh and a little boy Ava goes to preschool with was there too, apparently in the car on the way to Lex's birthday he found out Ava was going to be there and said, "Ava is so pretty." Sigh...
Ok back to the topic at hand...

Amanda had a turn next. She meant to make a star but it turned out to be more of a glop that I sorta shaped into a star. She loved it though.

The stickers the girls made had to dry over night. While those were drying I crocheted a pair of slippers! I taught myself how to do it. These were originally supposed to be for Amanda but yarn stretches and they go too big for Amanda's little feet. These are her feet modeling them. We ended up giving them to Ava and they fit her fairly well. I think they turned out pretty well especially considering it was my first pair. Aren't they SO cute?!?

Here are the sticker creations. First up, the birthday cake...

Second, the star....umm....blob thing... (it had a rough time coming off the plastic thing it dried on). We are going to make more tomorrow.

Today was a beautiful day outside so naturally we spent the majority of the day outside. Ava wanted to pick flowers (which were really weeds but don't tell her that).

Here is the gorgeous bouquet.

She picked out this vase and is filling it with water, filtered water. Nothing but the best for the weeds...uh...in mean flowers.

Ava using her flower aranging skills.

And Voila!!

After the flower arranging came the sticks. Amanda has these sticks, which used to be flowers, so she calls them her flowers. Whatever.

Justin cut down the dead hibiscus branches and Ava wanted to help relocate them. She's pretty buff!!

Here's Justins stick. HA! It's the old Japanese Snowbell that didn't survive. Yeah, my husband can carry a tree all by himself. I bet you wish your husband could do that.

Amanda wanted to try and mow the lawn. I think we need to work on her technique a little bit.
